  4. Hey Kiddo,

It's claire, obviously. I just wanted to tell you that we miss you and that i yelled at some of the 7th grade boys because they were being stupid. They were putting the strings from the blinds into someone's yogurt. I lost it and told them to not do that, while cleaning up their mess. We love you and miss you,

    Claire

  5. Haha... you should have heard Claire yell... she was REALLY mad- and you know Claire when she's mad (Love you, Claire! :-) Anyhow, we're all missing you are school, and Elizabeth the science teacher told me to say hi to you. Spanish today was boring (as usual :-) except for that Mark messed up the lesson plan by giving us a worksheet we had already done because he got us mixed up with the other class. Oh, and then he told us that we are having this kinda big oral test on Wednesday. So, anyhow, if you are still reading this (and I don't blame you if you got bored and stopped), what I'm trying to say is that you haven't missed much and that school is quite boring without you.

    See you soon!
    Rose

P.S. Okay, that was really long... :-)

  8. Right now we are eating lunch- I just finished my math quiz, which was EXTREMELY hard (and I took forever and them Kemi kicked me out of the classroom...)
In science, we had a very interesting discussion about feet and John's being allergic to carrots. He asked me for a carrot, which I gave him, but then he started sneezing and coughing and all this stuff, after which Elizabeth asked him what was wrong. She said that he could be in some sort of science book for being allergic to carrots, which led us to a conversation about her college friend who had messed up feet.

Oh, yeah, then a carrot came out of John's nose, which was REALLY disgusting.
    We're a very... special class, aren't we?

    Rose

PS. Annabel is getting mad because she wants to use the computer now so bye.

  11. Katherine,
Today in science we were supposed to come up with different creative ideas for graphs. Rose and I chose:
~How does the length of a person's nail effect how loudly the person they are scratching screams?
    and
~What is the effect of oral hygiene on how many dates one gets?
don't worry we didn't test it!

    I miss you!

  13. Hey Katherine!
When I read Eva's post I started laughing... remember when Becca and Drew (I think) tried to buy the geoquiz list and Tony gave them the sheet with all of the countries? That was SO funny...

Or remember the time when Tony poured water on Johns head and it spilled on his math book and Tony said he would email his math teacher and say John peed on it? Of course, he didn't but John thought he did so first thing in math he told Ali that he hadn't peed on his math book, and Ali was like, "what the heck?" hahaha... i hope this is making you smile!!
I can't wait to see you again, and I miss you greatly here at school.

AND THEN I SAW THE DHALI LLAMA !@EMORY! IT WAS SOOOOOOO NEAT!He was really funny and laughed alot, and was kinda like Santa Claus, except he wasnt fat, and didnt have a white beard or a red suit or...... well, u get the point.
Soooo, this post is getting kinda long & im supposed to be workingon HW, but yeah........
    BYeas!
    We miss u!
    Ur awesome!!!

P.s MAY U JOIN US IN OUR GLEEKDOM!!!!:) heeheeheeheehee

P.P.S Yesterday Shivani presented her science project and it was AWESOME!!!!:)))))))))

  24. Hey Katherine!!!
Yeah, like Eva said, we auditioned for All State on Saturday. I don't think I got in, but I'm glad I auditioned- now I'll know what it's like next year! All of my judges were really nice, except for this one guy who acted like he most definitely didn't want to be there.
Today Wallis left her lunch box in our classroom and Jennifer gave her a lunch cleaning, which was really funny, especially because Wallis didn't believe it at first!! Right now the lunch cleanings are booked until November.
Oh, the other day during lunch Claire pulled Wallis's chair out from under her, which, although mean, was also quite hilarious because then Wallis fell backwards on to me (I was standing up) and I started to fall on Rylee, but caught myself. I thought Claire might burst she was laughing so hard.
We all miss you dearly and every time we do something fun I wish you were with us. See you soon,
    Rose

  25. HI KATARINA! I MISS YOU SOOO MUCH AND I REALLY WANT TO SEE YOU SOON! Ok now I will stop writing in all caps!! Yeah today was interesting, like Rose was saying how Claire pulled Wallis's chair out from under her, it reminded me of today when I took Gabe's chair (only because I thought he was finished with it :)) and he sat down on nothing ! hehe that was quite funny. I miss you soooo much. We watched this video in RCG showing how much the models are transformed until they are actually advertised. There was this model and they made her neck like really long and her face skinny and stuff. Quite frankly (I never say that) instead of looking pretty she looked a bit like a giraffe. And in Spanish (oh how LOVELY that class is) I heard about how Michael was assigned to make Greg cry but I didn't understand it and we watched that movie about Day of the Dead which we watched last year. Anyway! It was an odd day, and it sucks that you aren't with us. We all miss you SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.... much! You are amazing! I love you ! You rock and you are soooo strong if there is anything you need, I'm here and we all are!
Ok I'm going to wrap up this EXTREMELY long message!

  27. yeah, in Spanish we had to watch the INCREDIBLY BORING day of the dead video that we already watched last year, but it was better than most classes because we didn't just sit there and listen to mark tell us stuff in Spanish.
as you can tell, Spanish isn't my favorite class (nothing against the language- i liked it last year!)

  30. HI Katherine! How are you doing? Like Rose said, the math test was EXTREMELY hard, oh I mean the wee quiz. I'm studying for the Literary Terms test, but I got a bit bored and distracted and then started thinking about you! I miss you sooooo muchh! Rose and Kira performed the song that they are going to do for the play to the class and it was amazing! They should sing it through Churchill updates, Friday! The class is not the same without you. I miss you soooo much! Feel better,

  32. i just got back from babysitting FOR 8 hours...

actually, it was fun because the kids are really sweet- a three year old and a 1 year old. they both really like me, which makes it a lot easier.

Becca and I are now part of the Robotics club and we are in charge of the whole presentation stuff. Ali decided we should do it, and before I knew it, somehow I had been talked into designing the entire project and doing the research. So, anyhow, Becca and I had the hardest time thinking of a funny way to talk about a very unfunny topic (people becoming paralyzed.) What we have come up with is having one of the boys dress up as a ballerina and twirl into a brick wall.
That reminds me, did you get to see our math project last year of John dressed up as a ballerina? If you didn't, I'll make a disk and bring it to you. It is HILARIOUS!!

    Miss you very much,
    Rose

  43. Hey Katherine,
We just had somewhat of a hectic week at school- we had our first week of Sub Saharan Africa in social studies! I am not a great speller in English, let alone trying to spell capitals like Ouagadougou! I have wasted so many sheets of paper writing the capitals over and over! We had a math quiz that you may have heard about, our average grade was a 68%. Yeah, most people actually got 50% except for like three people who got like 96, 97, and 98%. And then of course there was one person who got a 117%! Yeah, I don't think Sandy was too happy about it...
We also had a final math test... du du du dunnn... most people got like high 80's and 90's with a couple 100s and then a couple of people got like 50s. Which is not good, but in general we did do better... for those who say geometry is easy, I have too dissagree!
I heard you were really awesome in newsbowl- good job!!!!! :)
Sorry this is such a long and boring post...
Sorry I'm wasting so much of your time
    Oh yeah, HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!!!!

  45. Hi Katherine!!
I just typed this entire post, only the DUMB computer erased it!!
    So, here it goes again...

Hope you had an AWSOME Halloween! Drew brought in this humongous (apparently that isn't word) bag of candy and taunted us with it untill Kemi found out. She made him give us all a peice, and I got this really really really gross bannana-flavored gum ball. Why do they even make those??

Eye, mateee!! (what the heck does that mean?)

  51. Hey y'all!!
It was fun to be in news bowl last friday!!!! I'm starting chemo on friday so i'm enjoying my last few days with hair not falling out. I've been looking at wigs and are trying to decide what colors I should get (blonde!). I'll deffently get some ones that already match the color of my hair. I've also been looking at hats so that I can wear those in the winter. It might also be fun to go out in public with no hair just to see peoples reactions- it sounds like a good idea... watching peoples reactions should be hilarious! As of next monday (I hope) I will be half way done with chemo rounds (I only have to do two so when I get finished with one I'll be halfway done!!) I guess I'm just trying to find the littl positive things in life.
I love this blog so so so much and I miss you all so much!!
    <3,
    Katherine

    ReplyDelete
  52. It is GREAT to hear from you, Katherine. I think you should make a video of people's reactions. I also love the idea of you as a blonde! I'm sorry you've been in so much pain, and hope that Friday goes well. You are one brave enchilada, and we miss you a ton! Jennifer

    ReplyDelete
  53. Hi Katherine!
It's BEcca, Sarah, and Julia! We hope you feel better! Sarah is wearing cheetah rainboots, Julia is wearing polka dot rainboots, and Becca is wearing rocket dog sneakers. WE miss you a lot!
You should get a really bright, pink wig or something :).
    you are so brave,
stay on the bright side of things like you always do,
    Sarah, Becca, and Julia

    ReplyDelete
  54. Hey y'all. So when I get the wigs (and no hair) I'll make sure to take LOTS of pictures :) I have had so many x-rays, CT scans and MRI's that I'm starting to wonder why I'm not glowing. I miss you all so so so much. Jennifer, thank you so much for setting this up. I check it multiple times a day because it is so much fun to hear from all of you!
I'm nervous about surgery on friday... I'm having a port put in. It will go on my chest and just look like a little bump sticking out from my skin. The whole point of it is so that I don't have to have IV's for chemo-the port is connected to an artery so that the chemo drugs don't ruin the veins in my arms. I am also having another spinal tap on Friday. The doctors agree that I should have one- they think that it might be the source of all the horrible back pain that I am having. I'll just make sure to lie down for a while so that I don't ANOTHER spinal headache (they are the worst headaches imaginable!)
Finally; I don't know if you all have the web address to the blog that my mom does about me so here it is:
    athanassiades.blogspot.com
you might have to copy and paste it into the browser... but my mom updates it frequently and sometimes posts pictures.
Once again, I miss you all incredibly much.

  56. Katherine,
I think it would be super fun if you got hats (or wigs!) to match all of your outfits. Tres chic;) I agree with Julia except I think that you should get a bright blue wig! I hope that they fix your headaches and back aches. It makes me sad when I read that you are in pain. Today, at the dive meet, I got 3rd place. Out of how many girls I won't tell you. (okay, I admit there were only three people but...)

    Love you, Miss you,

I pray for you all that none of you ever have to expirence chemo in your life. It is horrible. I am nasueated all the time and quite sleepy. I finished my first cycle this weekend. If things go as planned, I will only have to do one more which means.... half way done!!! with chemo!!!!
The surgery went well, my port is sore just because the skin around it is sore.. so they say that when the skin heals, the port will feel less sore. It's just like a bump under the skin. One of the weird things about it is you can feel the catheder under my skin and I can feel it in the artery. It's so creepy feeling!!!!
I miss you all so so so much and cannot tell you how much this blog means to me, it's awesome.

  65. Hey, Katherine. I'm so sorry it's been a rough few days, and so thankful that you are halfway through chemo. I have every confidence that you will be feeling better in the not-too-distant future. In the meantime, I know it just sucks. (Did a teacher just write that???) If you are feeling better later in the week and want to come in for News Bowl - or get Skyped in - just shoot me an e-mail. We miss you! Jennifer

I hope you feel better soon.
    I am sorry chemo sucks!
Earlier I had a cotillion dinner.
It was horrible and boring. The only thing to do was to eat, but the food didn't taste very good.
    That's okay, though.
I miss you, and I really really hope you feel better SOON!

    much, much love,

I just noticed that every single one of my sentences had an exclamation point!
Anyway! If you want something time consuming to do, go to worlds hardest game, it's hard! I can only get to level 8. My cousin can beat it, though. Also, hehe if you go to Oxygen.com there's this fun game called make over matic!
Ok, got to go get ready for school,
Feel better, miss you, love you,

  72. Hi Katherine,
I'm sorry to hear that chemo has been rough, but I hope you will feel better soon. I miss you so much, but it was great to talk to you last Friday! Thanks for your help with newsbowl. Jake, Georgina, and I really needed it :).I hope to talk to you soon!

  73. Hey y'all.
It's so much fun sky ping in for news bowl- even if I don't get to see you in person i can see you over Skype! So for the latest news- my counts (white blood cells and other types of blood things) are very low :( this is expected but I keep on having symptoms of an infection so i've had to go to the er several times for that. But I have to be super cautious since the white blood cells are low- my body can't fight an infection as well as a healthy body could. White blood cells fight infection and since the chemotherapy kills white blood cells- I am at major risk for getting an infection.
Enough about boring medical stuff. How are YOU? How's school going. It's nice to hear about things other than medical stuff. Normal talk is nice :)
    Love you all!!!!!!!!!!!!

  74. THIS IS REALLY LONG BUT I THINK IT IS HILARIOUS, SO IF YOU WANT A GOOD LAUGH, READ ON!

    Well, let's see...

Things have been pretty uneventful. We have this math quiz on Tuesday on REALLY REALLY SUPER hard stuff and I don't think anyone gets it. Last Friday I cut up a million pieces of paper that said "SHOO SHOO" on them and was going to put them in Sarah Brock's locker. I got Rylee to film it with the flip because I thought you'd get a kick out of it. The only thing was, Sarah was standing right around the corner (of course, I didn't know this) and when she saw me, she ran over and practically tacked me. (Rylee got this all on film). While I tried to get her away from her locker, I dropped the bag with the slips of paper in them and she snatched them up. She ran into the bathroom, locked the stall door, and was about to flush them down the toilet, when she realized she had managed to get the door stuck and was locked in. I was standing right outside banging on the door, so she made a deal with me that she would give them to me if I would get her out. I did, but she didn't ever give them to me :-(. Well, I wasn't done. She ran off, and I thought she had gone to the downstairs bathroom, so I waited outside of the door so that when she came out I could do a surprise attack. What I didn't know is that she was really upstairs. Becca got them from her, but ripped the bag in the process and so all the slips of paper almost fell out. Luckily, we were able to save them, and when Sarah went out to carpool...
Well, she'll have a NICE surprise on Monday!

    :-)Rose

  75. Katherine,

I hope your blood counts go up soon.
On Tuesday I had a Cotillion dinner. Ruth and I were at different tables so we used the "Go Code" from mad money (when they touch their eyebrows with their pointer and middle finger) as a sign to go to the bathroom and talk. Also, there was a boy at my table named Thomas Moore and he went to St. Thomas Moore. :) I thought that was very FUNNY!!
    I miss you!

  76. Hey Katherine! Miss you so much, as always. If you want something to cheer you up, go to funniest tattoos. It's hilarious. There's this guy with another face on the backside of his head, and then there's another guy with a tattoo of a guy lawnmowing his hair on the back of his head. It's really weird, yet funny. (as you can see, I was really bored today, so I started looking up REALLY random things) Anyway! I'm so glad you're feeling better today! I want to see your wigs! What colors are they?
Miss you soooo much, give Gertrude a big, fat kiss for me :)

  81. Hey y'all!!!!! So I'm back in the hospital- sob. I have a sinus infection that is causing all of my blood counts to be low. I felt so miserable yesterday but I am feeling much better today. I had my first transfusion (platelets). I didn't have any kind of reaction to the platelet thankfully. I just remembered that the feast is this week!! It was so much fun last year!!!
On a sad note, I have noticed that my hair is reallly starting to fall out. I have begun to look at wig and hats to cover up but sometimes I might just go out in public with no hair!!!!!! I'm thinking about taking it all off sometime this week.
Oh well, hope to see y'all soon!!!
    Love ya,
    Katherine

    ReplyDelete
  82. Katherine,

Sorry you are back in the hospital, but I am glad that you are feeling better. I am also happy that your transfusion went well. On the bright side of your hair, think of all of the crazy hair dos you have have with those wigs!

    I miss you!

    Love,
    Becca

  83. you know, since your hair is falling out anyways, you could always just shave your head. ive always been curious as to what that feels like- but if it were me id be too scared to do it- so just a suggestion. i hope you are feeling good. we are having a race class gender "symposium" for the next three days so that is a break from classes. maybe you can skype in again for news bowl next week

  86. Happy Thanksgiving, Katherine. We are thinking about you today and thankful that you are in our lives. Everyone finished their feast food in about 37 seconds, and now some are watching "Despicable Me" in our classroom. Carlos is here today, and when I tried to teach earlier, he wouldn't stop messing with my hair and poking me! My family is attempting to drive to Florida in a few hours, along with the rest of the world. Hopefully, we'll get there by tomorrow! We miss you lots and hope you get to eat lots of good food. Take care, JS

    ReplyDelete
  87. Hey Katherine,
Happy Thanksgiving! Eat a TON (literaly- not a hyperbole!)of food! And some turckey (wow, I think I just spelled the grand old thanksgiving bird's name wrong, woe is me...), don't forget the turkey! He he he... okay that was really wired...
Anyway, a couple of people are going to visit grandparents or family- but no one is taking any huge trips- except Tony of course who is in Spain. Grrr... why does he get to travel the world while I finish my math homework- not fair right?!
We had the feast- twas fine I guess... PLEASE REMIND ME THOUGH, NEVER TO SIGN UP FOR THE FEAST CLEAN UP. That was NOT fun...
Jane (of Jane and Ben) hates me right now I think because I was really tired and didn't do a ton of work...
The whole RCG week was pretty good... Oman did this excersize thingy where he made us all line up and go forward or backward depending on our answers to questions- like have you ever skipped a meal in your life because you were woried about your weight... or something to the effect of that. It was really wired to see people that you know really well that are really far ahead of you or really far behined you...
We have like a trillion tests next week- just to make up for the loses of any possible tests this week. Yeah, we get our big science test back... the horror the horror!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I totally admit to being freaked out about my score...
HAVE A REALLY HAPPY THANKSGIVING AND WE MISS YOU!!!
I would write more but I have to go walk my dog... sigh...

thanks for all the love and wishes and prayers,

  89. hey Katherine!
This year all of my mom's family is coming over to my house for thanksgiving, which is a little bit of a drag because it means we have to clean up our house and get everything ready! UGGG!!! I am all cleaned out! (I know, that made no sense. :-) This week was pretty relaxing, and although some parts were a bit boring, I really enjoyed Gender/Race/Class day.
Right now my brother is in his room playing with nerf guns and pretending to die by shooting himself. He's acting like two people so that they can fight against each other... oh, wait, I guess I don't have to tell you this. You already know my brother's weird. :-P

I think next time I see you I'll have to bring our injured polly pocket, if I can find her. She definitely needs some more excitement- another high dive, perhaps?

I think about you all the time. The feast seemed to be missing something with you gone. I hope you have a WONDERFUL turkey day and enjoy lots of mashed potatoes (those are my favorite :-)

    Missing you,
    rose

  90. Katherine,

Like every year, I go to New York for Thanksgiving. Yesterday we went to see the Macy's Thanksgiving day parade. It was so so much fun! It was also really cold. Sorry to disappoint you though, we didn't have fried turkey. We did have turkey though and lots of stuffing. Yum! Then there were the hours I spent playing and entertaining my little cousins. I have tons of little cousins. Both my dad's family and my step grandmother's family were there. Then after dinner we had a gripping game of boys vs. girls charades. Girls won, of course!

    Love you,

HAppy late thanksgiving! I miss you! You look stunning with no hair! I don't think I could pull that off :)!
For my thanksgiving, we ate turkey (what a surprise!) and had dessert then played apples to apples, which was fun. How was your thanksgiving and how are you? School isn't the same without you!
And Becca-of course the girls win! :)
I'm watching Supernanny and the kid just punched the mom in the nose! And then the mom was like, "My nose hurts!" Then supernanny was like, "Suck it up!"
It's one entertaining show! She has a tattoo on her lower, lower back.
Did you get some good black friday sales?
Hows Gertrude and the rest of the family? :)
    Miss you, love you,

KATHERINE!!!!!!!!!! The final newsbowl is coming up... Yay! I will try to email you another video soon, and maybe get more people in it... (And maybe when it's quieter too..:) (OH MY GOSH! I just started a sentence with AND... According to Tony, I would be less popular because of it.... He tells us we will be doomed to a life of making toothpick sculptures instead of having friends if we don't learn our grammar... He probably said something like that last year... and the year before that... and the years before that... and so on and so forth)
ONLY 10 MORE DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS! I'm still excited even though I'm Jewish. :)
I miss you so much and I would write all night if I could about random stuff that's happening, but it's getting kind of late... well, kind of, but I still have reading to do. Speaking of homeowrk there's a geo quiz tomorrow... AHHH! We're just starting on North Africa and Southwest Asia. Sub-Saharan Africa is over (WHEW!) 116. Hello, Katherine!!! We miss you so much! I hope you can come in soon and see us because, well, we miss you and that would be fun. I don't think you are missing much in school lately....we are working very hard on the play though and it (hopefully) will be great and you should come and see it which you were probably planning on doing if you can. We just finished an art project in art obviously and now are moving on to holocaust art work and we can kind of do whatever we want related to that. Also Kira and Georgina's birthdays just past. So I will stop rambling on about school stuff now so have a good day and weekend and week and moth, etc. Bye- hope to see you soon!!!

  117. Hey, Katherine! First off, I would like to point off that sarah said have a good moth, which is kind of funny. How are you?? I miss you sooo much! Can you believe Justin Beiber is having a movie made? OMG i just saw the commercial, Never say never is the name of it...we should see it together just to make fun of everything that's said. I miss you sooo much! I want to visit you soon! Lets see what's going on at school... the skii trip is next week (which we aren't going on :() boohooh! But that's ok! And we had a math quiz friday whcih was pretty easy. Newsbowl was good except for the fact that Derrick, Sarah, Kira and I didn't win....probably because you weren't there! Haha :)
I hope your feeling much, much better and I can't wait to see you soon!
    Talk to you later,
    love,
    Julia/gertrude

  118. Hi Katherine!
Like Sarah said, we've been working really hard on the play. We had Greg record the loudspeaker voice and it is SO funny! He has this accent and everything, which makes it hilarious, but, of course, he's talking about people dying, so it's kind of weird that we were laughing when you think about it. Rylee and Claire were in the room when he was recording, but they had to leave because they were laughing so hard! I can't wait for you to hear it...

In Spainish oin Wednesday, Mark assigned us homework that was due this Monday, since he thought we didn't have class Thursday. We realized we did, so all of JeTo did the homework, and the other class didn't. Yeah, we kinda did it on purpose because we thought it would be funny but then Mark didn't really notice anyway :-(
Oh, yes, the other day in Spanish, we were doing another extremely boring something or another and for almost the whole time Drew was reading his dirty jokes book... and Mark didn't notice until the very end! I'm not usually the kind of person to support messing around in class, but I have to admit, this was SUPER DUPER boring. On Thursday, we were doing some textbook activity where you are pretending you are at a restaurant and order food. Rylee, Sarah and I volunteered to do it for the class. Rylee, the waiter, got up in front of the class and started laughing
for no reason, which, in turn, made me start laughing, so poor Sarah was trying to do the whole thing herself because Rylee and I couldn't stop laughing. When we finally got ourselves together, Rylee brought over the food and said, in Spainish, "Here is your food, ma'am," to Sarah, who was supposed to be a man, and then we all started laughing again, and the rest of the class just looked at us like we were crazy.
    Which we were.

Anyhow, I'll stop rambling, but I just have to say that I'll see you again VERY soon!

    Rose

  119. Whoops... I meant to say I hope I'll see you again very soon... not that I WILL see you again VERY soon.

I loved seeing you on Saturday! I really hope you can come in and see us. The day is always so much better when you are there! You always brighten up our day. Your smile is like a sunny day- not to be cliche or anything!
